Overrunning Dynamic Controllable Clutch

The Overrunning Dynamic Controllable Clutch (ODCC) builds on the capabilities of the Dynamic Controllable Clutch (DCC) by integrating one-way clutch (OWC) functionality. This advanced design allows for passive transition from overrunning to transmitting torque in one direction (free-lock) or the ability to transmit torque in both directions (lock-lock) operation based on system demands.

Key Features:

  • Incorporates a passive one-way clutch (OWC) and an actuator-controlled clutch into one assembly.
  • Provides precise and efficient torque transfer.
  • Enhances vehicle efficiency by minimizing drag and parasitic losses.

Advantages:

  • Supports compact system integration to optimize packaging and weight.
  • Improves performance in hybrid and electric propulsion systems by enabling smooth transitions between driving modes.

Applications:

  • Shifting Elements
  • Driveline Disconnects
  • Engine Disconnect
